Octavia Darkmoore
That... is a very intriguing question. A ... very... intriguing question. Come with me, and I will see if I can answer it. I should warn you. I am not Faith and I'm not Sansovino. I do not read fortunes. I do not believe in fate or destiny or any of that superstitious witchery. But there are ways to look inside a person and find their deepest, most hidden desire. Once you have found that, you can generally extrapolate an answer to any of their questions. Unless you do not wish to know?
Name: Octavia.
Titles: Princess of Darkmoore, Octavia Darkmoore, Octavia Soulsting, Lady of Flames.
Rules: Nothing.
Height: 5'10". Weight: 144 lbs.
Hair color: Dark red. Eye color: Green.
Distinguishing marks: None.
Appearance: Octavia is an exceedingly thin, though quite beautiful woman, known for her long curling hair and her bright, piercing eyes. She tends to wear sleek tight-fitting gowns of black or dark blue or occasionally shimmering gold or silver. She styles her hair elaborately and wears heavy makeup. She comes across as lazier, more sensual and perhaps more intelligent than her mother, and she smokes like a chimney.
Colors: Red and blue (and gold).
Symbol: A hand, in gold, holding a red flame balanced on the palm, on a blue field.
Personality: Warm, sensual, a tease. Dangerous, with the undercurrent of electricity that haunts her every move and the strong sense that radiates from her that she will have almost anything done for her to keep from being bored, but she does precious little herself. She is obviously a genius, obviously beautiful and aware of that fact. She may be a coward.
Parentage: Tamora Darkmoore.
Age: 202.
Known siblings: Prima (deceased), Segunda (deceased), Tertius (deceased), Quatrus (deceased), Quincea (deceased), Sexta (deceased), Septimus (deceased).
Known children: None.
Known agents: Few, extremely talented and very secret.
Recruited By: Arayen.
Thumbnail History: Octavia is the youngest daughter of Tamora Darkmoore, and when she was born, five of her siblings were alive. Quatrus had died at three years old falling out of a tree and Quincea had only made it to fifty-seven when she was murdered by an angry mob who did not much care for her beautification procedures.
Tamora never paid much attention to her children, preferring to leave them in the care of her hunters, her priesthood or her worshippers in the villages and castles of Darkmoore. Octavia was raised by the priesthood, and she grew up fast and smart. She was worshipped as a goddess in her own right; for some reason the priesthood made her the goddess of magic and of fire, and from that point on Octavia's decision was made for her - or perhaps it had been fated to be and the priests had simply read it in her eyes.
Octavia never believed in fate and she never believed the decision had been anything but her own. She was fascinated by the dark rites, by sorcery and Soul Magic. She had a great affinity for all three.
It was Octavia who discovered, at fifteen, that sex could be as powerful a focuser of the sorcerous energies in Darkmoore as blood. While Octavia never shied away from a blood sacrifice, sex became her preference. Sex or fire.
By the time Octavia was ninety-nine, her siblings began to die, one by one. Segunda died first, torn apart by wild beasts. Tertius went next, his soul ripped from his body. Septimus was lured into a game in Funland which he could not survive. Prima was murdered, apparently by agents of Eris Echidna. Sexta was the last to die, forty two years ago, and she overdosed.
Octavia was now the only heir to Darkmoore, which immediately increased Tamora's interest in her. Tamora began to speak to her daughter, to teach her the secrets of the land and the rulership of Darkmoore. Octavia took it all in and smiled and was quiet.
She stays in Darkmoore most of the time, enjoying her worshippers and her increased power, which diminishes slightly when she goes elsewhere. She has been known to visit other parts of the City, where she gets on remarkably with all the Rulers except Eris.
Octavia as Parent: Octavia's children, should she have them, would be raised in Darkmoore, by the priesthood, as little gods and goddesses. Octavia would be around but in the fashion of a royal mother, there for hugs and affection and not for anything else, until the child came of age at thirteen. Then she would perform a rite to tie the child to Arcadia and to unlock her special powers. Once that was done, she would turn to teaching, training and strengthening her child for survival. Octavia can be warm and knows an amazing amount of odd bits of information.
Octavia as Employer: Most of those who could be considered Octavia's employees are truly in the service of Darkmoore and Tamora. There is a priesthood dedicated entirely to the Goddess of Magic, but Octavia does not actually employ them or interfere with them in any way, seeming happy that they exist and funnel power to her for her own use. She has some sorcerous apprentices and agents and a bodyguard or two, as well as a few very secret spies scattered outside of Darkmoore. Octavia appears to be fond of these people, and treats them well, but in point of fact she would sacrifice them for her own best interests at any moment and not even blink.
Octavia as Friend: Octavia views friends very much as employees, to be used for their skills and information, and for what they can give her, treated kindly and warmly, and sacrificed given the need. Of course, as Octavia's friend, you would probably not know that. She is very pleasant, very smart and very useful. She knows secrets, knows information and can usually unlock other people's powers to a great degree, so she attracts friends who are also looking for power at any cost and who do not blame her for her materialistic nature. She is the only female of the Old Blood (so far) to get along with Faith, has taken advantage of Arayen's attraction for her physicality, and has been known to be protective of Magdalene and Florian. Her animosity for Eris and for Valkyrie Christian is well known.
Octavia Romantically: Sensual and sexual, Octavia Darkmoore uses sex to fuel a lot of her spells and rebuild her life force, so she is often willing to engage in romantic activities on little or no acquaintance. On the other hand, she has never been able to be as casual about it as Faith, and she does desire love and romance. She has a harem of beautiful men in Darkmoore who see to her needs, and she loves every single one of them, in sometimes different ways, but would sacrifice them all for someone she could not control and command.
