Tamora Darkmoore
The cat's scratch first. Then the scratch of diamond. Mirrors last, mirrors to cut and let the red purple run like wine. Broken mirror dreams and distorted mirror whispers. My salvation and my shame in the deep apocalyptic jungle. Obsidian a different kind of mirror. Incense and crackling black stench a different kind of smoke. Are you afraid? Not nearly enough.
Name: Tamora
Titles: Lady of Arcadia, Empress of Darkmoore, Tamora Darkmoore, Tamora Skinshifter, Mistress of Beasts.
Rules: Darkmoore.
Height: 5'11". Weight: 175 lbs.
Hair color: Dark red. Eye color: Golden yellow.
Distinguishing marks: None.
Appearance: Tall, statuesque, and even muscular, Tamora is lightly tanned and freckled from the sun, and would probably be considered stunningly beautiful if not for her feral yellow eyes and the expression which usually transfixes her narrow face, as if she would much rather suck your blood than kiss you. She dresses carelessly, in whatever colors and styles are available, and rarely bothers to tie her tunic closed or to button her blouse. Tamora is a shapechanger and can appear in at least four known forms other than her human shape - as a black jaguar, as a raven, as a wolf, or as a red and gold cobra, all far larger than is usual for such animals and all retaining her golden eyes.
Colors: Brown, yellow and black.
Symbol: A jaguar, black, head turned to face the viewer, with yellow eyes, on a field bisected by a bend sinister yellow and brown.
Personality: Terrifying. Tamora is cruel and indomitable, despite the fact that the changes to the City have removed her sadistic tendencies and left her much more centered, reasonable and logical in mind. Nonetheless, she continues to rule a land of nightmares, and she can certainly be a nightmare herself. She understands the need for blood to make things grow in Darkmoore and she waters her land with the sacrifices of those she meets, though her Wild Hunt has turned now to a hunt for criminals, murderers, and the very worst of those Darkmoore has to offer. Those who remember her father Julian would now say that she is very much like him: ruthless, aggressive, emotionally distant and yet honorable and self-sacrificing. If she is curious, or satiated, and speaks to you, you will find her direct, forceful, and passionate, and indeed, surprisingly intelligent and articulate.
Parentage: Julian and Jasra.
Age: Unknown. Around three thousand.
Known siblings: Sansovino (believed to be full siblings), Rinaldo (maternal half-brother).
Known children: Prima (deceased), Segunda (deceased), Tertius (deceased), Quatrus (deceased), Quincea (deceased), Sexta (deceased), Septimus (deceased), Octavia.
Known agents: Few, outside of worshippers and members of the Hunt.
Tamora as Parent: Although Tamora dislikes being pregnant and has very few maternal instincts, she does have a desire for progeny, though not for companionship or love, but to continue to protect and rule Darkmoore should Tamora die. In pursuit of this, she will endeavor to bear a child any time it appears that Darkmoore has no legitimate heir. Not particularly creative when it comes to naming practices, they tend to follow a numerological pattern. Her children are worshipped as gods and goddesses in Darkmoore, and are taught to fight, to hunt, and the rudiments of sorcery, and are then free to pursue what interests them. They see little physical affection, and are rarely held or embraced, even as children, and once they reach puberty they are on their own, seeing Tamora only rarely and then on a congenial, rather than familial basis. She does not even protect them when they are attacked. If they cannot survive on their own, they will not be able to rule Darkmoore.
Tamora as Employer: Tamora's agents fall under three categories: her worshippers within Darkmoore, members of her Hunt, and her ambassadors to the other eight sections of the City. Therefore she has few by the standards of the Council, although technically all of Darkmoore are her worshippers. Her worshippers rarely see or interact with her, except on festival days, when they sacrifice to her and she arrives for the feasting and the ritual murders. Only her High Priests and Priestesses ever speak to her or could be considered worthy of her notice. Her Hunt is a dozen or so amazing warriors and hunters, often of the undead or with skin-shifting capabilities. She has eight ambassadors, who relay her opinions and her interests (which are few) to the other Council members.
Tamora as Friend: She does have a few friends. Her companions in the Hunt can be counted her friends, for she is open with them and they have heard her laugh. Her other friends are usually those with whom she shares an interest, or who can see past her blood-thirsty nature and understand that she is lonely and occasionally seeks companionship simply for an intelligent conversation or an update on what is happening outside of Darkmoore. She gets along remarkably well with Melchior, considering their differing temperaments, and seems fond of her brothers Sansovino and Rinaldo and her daughter Octavia. Her closest friend might very well be Elfwin Arkain, Melchior's son.
Tamora Romantically: Tamora is generally more interested in sex than romance or love. A dominatrix, her sexual interests are varied but usually include pain as well as pleasure. She enjoys not only the innocent type but also the strong silent type. This is not to say she can't have more usual sexual encounters, or even the very rare relationship, but she finds few partners who meet her standards for more than a one-night stand, and her life is dangerous enough that not many of them survive for more than a year with her. She is loyal, protective and monogamous, but also jealous and somewhat difficult to live with.
